Around 90 Percent of the people use Microsoft Windows as
their Operating System, which makes it a hot spot for the black hat hackers.
Loopholes that get created without the user being aware are exploited by the
hackers to sneak a peek by implanting malware, and extract information that
might be of some value to them.
Here is a list of the Internet security threats which made
news in first half of 2014 and some time prior to that, and then it is for you
to decide what are your chances and takes (like using anti-malware Optimo
Defender) to stay safe!
Zero-Day Flaws
The flaws that get published the day they get detected
without allowing time to fix them are termed Zero-Day Flaw. Recently, Microsoft
announced new-found vulnerability in all the versions of its default browser Internet
Explorer that can severely impact the internet surfer and online shopper. This
is one of the many examples of a ‘Zero-Day Flaw, which challenges windows internet security.
Although many users claim that the threat will have a very
restricted impact as there are very few of them using IE as a browser. However,
there are those who are just starting on Internet and try their hands on what
they get as default.
HeartBleed Bug
The SSL vulnerability though patched up has stirred the
world of Internet and ecommerce. People still fear shopping online. In some
secret corner of mind, they are scared of revealing their credit / debit card
passwords. Chances are that they become a victim. If this would be the case,
they don’t know how their own information might be used against them or their
future.
Covert Redirect Flaw
After HeartBleed bug the next big buzz is Covert Redirect
Flaw. It basically creates problems through logging details. Websites using
extensively-employed login tools like OAuth and OpenID are the main target of
this flaw. Black hat hackers subtly encourage people to go to their own sites
loaded with bots to steal the data.
All these tricks not just target finances and emotions, but
the basic human psyche. It is much later that they really get to know about
them becoming prey to their senses, and thus becoming a victim of a bad hacker.
Secret Monitoring by
NSA
When it is Big Brother right out of 1984 dystopian cult novel
by George Orwell, it seems like no amount of security shield can really protected Internet users. Edward Snowden
had recently spilled the beans about how NSA is tracking people they want to,
encroaching in their private space. Who is going to bell this cat now which is
funded by god-knows who and how many of the big shots.
Optimo Defender- A
Help Nonetheless!
Most of the security threats employ malware at their very
core. Optimo Defender cannot stop NSA from spying, or fix the vulnerabilities,
but it surely can provide an effective security
shield, by not letting malware do any harm to you, your system or your
data.
For everything else, we hope universal privacy policies to
get better!
